Echo’s Love

I wish not for
a new face
but, a new way
to wear it
the power and energy
I thought I was reserving
has been leaking
without my knowing
dwell not on the past
but I’ve nothing left
to drive me forward
all my force
has withered meek
these hands no longer
hold the strength I need
my eyes once shone
with a life so bright
twinkling like
a summer gale
but they’ve lost their luster
growing pale with sadness
and wishes unfulfilled
day’s just an excuse
to practice my fraud
‘til the night closes in
to reveal my sin
I’ve nothing to give
and love only for this face
